Mayo Clinic and Thermo Fisher Scientific Partner to Launch Precure LLC

In a major development for the diagnostics and life sciences sectors, Mayo Clinic and Thermo Fisher Scientific have partnered to launch Precure LLC, a joint enterprise focused on creating population-scale multi-omic molecular datasets.

The platform combines longitudinal clinical information with multi-omic data generated from over 1 million patient biospecimens—including blood, urine, saliva, and stool samples—to detect early signals of disease long before symptoms appear.

Core Technological Capabilities

  • Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics: Thermo Fisher supplies advanced mass spectrometry platforms and analytical tools to map complex protein and metabolite profiles across large patient cohorts.
  • AI-Driven Pattern Recognition: Precure leverages machine learning to integrate clinical health records with molecular biosignatures, pinpointing actionable targets for early diagnostic panels.
  • Population-Scale Integration: The initiative links prospective trial data (supported by industry partners including Regeneron) with decade-long clinical records to establish predictive risk models for cardiovascular, metabolic, and oncological conditions.

Market Implications

By establishing one of the industry’s largest multi-omic data repositories, the collaboration aims to drastically reduce the timeline required to discover, validate, and commercialize next-generation point-of-care and laboratory-developed diagnostic tests (LDTs).
